For all avid bikers,
this club is one for kids who want to be out and about and on the
trails of Woodbury! We have such a unique opportunity here at our
site where we can jump on the awesome Woodbury bike trails and go,
go go! We will take off at 9 am, and the kids will enjoy a full
two hours of biking on the trails of Woodbury. We will take
water, and enjoy some scenic routes, stopping at parks along the
way.
Times and Dates:
9:00 am – 11:00 am
Tues., Wed. Thurs. From July 6 – Aug 27th (8 weeks of
biking bliss)!
Costs:
$30.00 per week for children who are
not already attending Trailblazers.
Trailblazers students pay an addition $15.00 per week to
participate in bike club.
The camp is open to children from
4th-9th grade.
Bikes, helmets and water bottles are
required. We DO NOT provide these items. If you want
to leave your bike at Footprints, bring a lock so it can be left
on the Footprints bike rack.
Flexible schedules are
available, so join us when you can!
Mural Club
When:
Tuesday – Thursdays from 2 – 4 p.m.
What:
This exciting club is for all kids who LOVE art, and are
interested in helping with two exciting mural projects that
will be showcased in our school.
Cafeteria Project
Gymnasium / History of
Woodbury Project
Our second project will be much larger in scope and be housed
in our school’s gymnasium. We are planning a history of
Woodbury theme for this mural.
Our mission is to create a mural
that will become an historic landmark. Once completed, our
hope is that this will be a teaching tool for elementary schools
throughout the three Woodbury Districts - as well as something for
all to see and be proud of within the City of Woodbury. The
mural club kids will take part in the research, by participating
in several activities, such as: interviewing people who have
been part of the City’s history, doing research in the library,
and coming up with a plan for how the mural will take shape in
partnership with Jennie Hargis, the mural coordinator.
Children will be getting this project off the ground for us this
summer. We plan to complete it during the 2010/11 school
year.
Who Can Enroll?
This is a unique opportunity for children of all ages!
Focusing on a variety of skills, kids will learn about art,
how to research a project and they will learn about the
history of Woodbury. The mural club
promises to be a fun and exciting time for kids to learn, have
fun, and socialize with friends.
Pricing:
If you are already enrolled in Trailblazers for summer, and
wish to ALSO participate in the mural club, the price is an
additional $20 per week for one child, or $15 per week for two
children.
If you are not already involved in
Trailblazers for the summer, mural club is $40.00 for one child,
or $60 for two kids/per week– kids can come as often as they like
each week, club meets Tues- Thurs, from 2-4 p.m. A
light snack will be provided.
