Grade Level Objectives

In addition to the traditional subjects including reading, math, science, social studies, physical education, technology, art, and music, our students are also provided instruction in Spanish and American Sign Language. Mandarin Chinese is also offered at our school as part of the additional services in the after school program.

Footprints Academy serves children in Kindergarten through 6th grade elementary school. We are conveniently located in Woodbury, MN and primarily serve students and parents in the St. Paul, MN area primarily in Woodbury, Stillwater, Lake Elmo, Maplewood, and Oakdale, MN.

Grade Level Objectives at Footprints Academy

Footprints Academy provides exceptional and effective curriculum for elementary children. Our curriculum goes beyond vague and generalized guidelines outlining what students are to know by providing very specific mastery objectives. The teachers collaborate with one another to provide continuity from one grade to the next, and to ensure that children are constantly building skills.

We re-evaluate our learning objectives and make adjustments based on
  • new information available in the field of education;
  • the specific skills and talents of the children in each class;
  • the strengths and desires of each individual teacher,
  • and the parents' goals which are incorporated into the process.
When building the Footprints Academy curriculum scope and sequence, we researched the academic goals that are outlined by the public schools, and then set our minimum goals above those of the public schools. The minimum goals that we set are the absolute essentials, outlining what we expect each child to master as a base in each grade. As far as what they learn on top of these minimum goals, the sky is the limit. Customizing the educational experience per child is one of the benefits of attending our school. The small class sizes we maintain allow for the individual child they help direct their experience.
